Italian companies that want to expand their markets can count on a wide range of lost and facilitation contributions. These tools are offered by government and local authorities to support internationalisation activities, which allow companies to access new customers, increase sales and competitiveness.

SIMEST: funding for companies that want to grow abroad

SIMEST, a financial company of the Ministry of Economic Development, offers loans at a reduced rate and contributions to a lost fund for Italian companies who want to open new branches or upgrade existing ones abroad.

The loans may be granted for a maximum amount of:

5% of average revenue resulting from the last two budgets (voice A1 of the economic account)
€ 500,000 for Micro Enterprises;
€ 2.500.000 for SMEs and innovative SMEs;
€ 3,500.000 for Other companies

The eligible expenditure is:

Acquisition, preparation and furniture of the commercial structure
Restructuring and/or extension of the commercial structure
Marketing and promotion
Training and staff update

Simest supports the participation of Italian companies in international events with a fund lost up to 10%.

The Simest Bank for Fairs and Events is a fund that is lost and at a reduced rate that supports companies in participating in international events, even virtual ones, to promote their goods and services on foreign markets.

All companies may participate in the ban, particularly micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

They are eligible for financing expenditure supported for participation in international events, including:

Standing and set-up costs
Travel and stay expenses
Marketing and promotion costs

The financing is a duration of 4 years, of which 2 pre-mortizationThe maximum amount of funding is equal to the minimum of:

20% of revenues from the last budget
20% of average revenues from the last two budgets
500,000 euro

The maximum amount of the aid required is 10% of the amount of the aid required, up to a maximum of 100,000 euros.

The application for financing may be submitted exclusively online on the Simest website. The applications will be evaluated according to the order of presentation, until the available funds are exhausted.

SIMEST: contribution up to 100,000 euros for the inclusion of a Temporary Manager

SIMEST has published a call to support temporary inclusion of a Temporary Manager in an Italian company.

The call for tender is aimed at all companies, particularly SMEs, and provides for a low-rate financing and a lost-funded contribution up to 10% of the investment amount.

The following are eligible: expenditure for the temporary inclusion of Temporary Manager for the realization of technological, digital or ecological innovation projects, in support of the internalization of the enterprise on international markets.

The financing is 4 years, of which 2 are pre-depreciation. The maximum amount of funding is equal to the least 20% of average revenues resulting from the last two budgets and 500,000 euros.

Applications for financing must be submitted within the 31 October 2023.

Simest supports the internationalisation of Italian companies with a call for advice and certifications

Simest supports Italian companies who want to internationalize and offers lost fund financing to support companies that intend to:

Obtain product certifications for the protection of intellectual property rights, certifications of sustainability and technological innovation;
Buy specialist advice and feasibility studies for internationalisation of the enterprise or for digital, product technology innovation in the context of internationalisation.

The financing may cover up to 100% of eligible expenditureThe Commission has also made a proposal for a directive on the protection of the environment and the protection of the environment.

The eligible expenditure is those relating to the following measures:

Specialist advice and feasibility studies for the internationalisation of the enterprise or for digital, product technology innovation in the context of internationalisation;
Expenditure for the obtaining of product certifications for the protection of intellectual property rights, certifications of sustainability and technological innovation.

Internationalisation of the CCIAA of Modena

The Chamber of Commerce of Modena supports the companies of Emilia-Romagna who want to export.

The call for tender, open to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, provides for lost-funded contributions up to 7.500 euro for the costs of consulting, training, purchase of goods and services instrumental and realization of exhibition spaces.

Questions may be submitted by the 18 to 25 October 2023 exclusively in telemtic mode.

Here are the details of the call:

Target group: micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in Emilia-Romagna
Financial allocation: 100,000 euro
Contributions:
- Lost fund of 70% of eligible expenditure, with a ceiling of € 7.500,00
- Euro 250,00 for companies with legal rating

Eligible expenditure:
- Consultation and/or training services relating to one or more areas of activity in support of international trade
- Purchase or hire of instrumental goods and services that are functional to the development of initiatives
- Realization of exhibition spaces (virtual or, where possible, physical) and business meetings

Voucher Internationalisation Chamber of Commerce of Bergamo

The Chamber of Commerce of Bergamo offers a lost contribution to the enterprises of the province who want to expand on international markets.

Beneficiaries may receive a contribution up to 8.000 euros to carry out consultancy and assistance for internationalisation.

Funding lost for the internationalisation of the enterprises in Tuscany – CCIAA Maremma and Tirreno

The companies of Maremma and Tyrrhenian can obtain a lost contribution to internationalize their activities.

The call is aimed at micro-enterprises and SMEs of all economic sectors, with registered office or operational units in the provinces of Grosseto and Livorno.

The contribution can be used to support the following costs:

Internationalisation advice
Participation in international fairs and events
Translations and localizations
Registration of trademarks, patents and designs
Advertising and marketing
Consulting and assistance services

The amount of the contribution is 70% of the eligible expenditure, up to a maximum of €2.500 for micro enterprises and €2,000 for SMEs.

The deadline for submitting applications is the 30 November 2023.

Loans for the internationalisation of MPMI in Florence

The Chamber of Commerce of Florence offers a lost contribution to the MPMI of the metropolitan city that want to export.

Beneficiaries may make a contribution up to 1.500 euro for micro enterprises and up to 500 euro for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The contribution can be used to support the following costs:

Advices for defining an export strategy;
Training on export issues;
Assistance for participation in international trade fairs and events;
Assistance for the translation and localization of products and services;
Assistance for opening branches or offices abroad;
Assistance for the search of new customers and foreign partners.

The call is aimed at supporting Tuscan companies who want to undertake or consolidate their presence on international markets.

The Tuscan companies may participate in the call:

are micro, small or medium-sized enterprises (MPMI)
have legal headquarters or operational units in the provinces of Lucca, Massa-Carrara and Pisa
operino in one of the eligible sectors (agriculture, forestry and fisheries, agro-industry, crafts, commerce, culture, industry, services and tourism)

The amount of the funding is equal to:

3,000 euros for micro-enterprises
2,000 euros for small businesses
1,000 euros for medium-sized enterprises

The financing may be used to support the following costs:

Voucher Internationalisation: Loans for the internationalisation of enterprises lost. Year 2023 – CCIAA di Pistoia-Prato

The Chamber of Commerce of Pistoia-Prato has published a lost financing call to support the internationalisation of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MPMI) of the provinces of Pistoia and Prato, which operate in the sectors of industry, crafts, commerce and services.

May benefit of the contribution of undertakings which:

are registered in the Register of Companies of the provinces of Pistoia and Prato;
have an annual turnover not exceeding 50 million euros;
are active for at least 3 years.

The amount of the contribution is 50% of eligible expenditure, with a maximum of 6,000 Euros for enterprises and 9,000 euros for consortia, the consortium and cooperative societies.

The contribution can be used to support the following expenditure:

advice for defining an internationalisation strategy;
training on internationalisation issues;
assistance for participation in international fairs and events;
assistance for the translation and localization of products and services;
assistance for opening branches or offices abroad;
