Italian companies interested in expanding their markets can benefit from a wide range of contributions and benefits designed to support the internationalisation process.
These tools aim to facilitate access to new markets, increase sales and increase company competitiveness.

SIMEST: funding for companies that want to grow abroad
SIMEST, a financial company of the Ministry of Economic Development, offers loans at a reduced rate and contributions to a lost fund for Italian companies who want to open new branches or upgrade existing ones abroad.
The loans may be granted for a maximum amount of:
- 5% of average revenue resulting from the last two budgets (voice A1 of the economic account)
- € 500,000 for Micro Enterprises;
- € 2.500.000 for SMEs and innovative SMEs;
- € 3,500.000 for Other companies
The eligible expenditure is:
- Acquisition, preparation and furniture of the commercial structure
- Restructuring and/or extension of the commercial structure
- Marketing and promotion
- Training and staff update
Applications for financing must be submitted within and beyond the 31 December 2023.

Simest supports the participation of Italian companies in international events with a fund lost up to 10%.
The Simest Bank for Fairs and Events is a fund that is lost and at a reduced rate that supports companies in participating in international events, even virtual ones, to promote their goods and services on foreign markets.
All companies may participate in the ban, particularly micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
They are eligible for financing expenditure supported for participation in international events, including:
- Standing and set-up costs
- Travel and stay expenses
- Marketing and promotion costs
The financing is a duration of 4 years, of which 2 pre-mortizationThe maximum amount of funding is equal to the minimum of:
- 20% of revenues from the last budget
- 20% of average revenues from the last two budgets
- 500,000 euro
The maximum amount of the aid required is 10% of the amount of the aid required, up to a maximum of 100,000 euros.
The application for financing may be submitted exclusively online on the Simest website. The applications will be evaluated according to the order of presentation, until the available funds are exhausted.

Lazio:
International Voucher SME: lost fund contributions to participation in fairs – region Lazio
The Lazio 2021-2027 ERDF Programme launched the call for “PR ERDF 2021-2027: Voucher Internationalisation” with the aim of supporting regional SMEs’ participation in international trade fairs through the provision of a lost fund contribution.
The call is intended for small and medium-sized companies registered in the Italian Business Register, active in Lazio and which have an operational headquarters in this region.
The eligible expenditure includes the participation in fairs started after the publication of the Notice and concluded by 2024. You can participate in international and national fairs, excluding markets aimed mainly at end consumers.
The sum of the contribution varies depending on the type of fair to which the company participates:
- International Fairs: €15,240
- National Fairs: €3,600 Projects with a contribution of less than €7,200 and the maximum contribution is €50,000.
Requests must be submitted via GeCoWEB Plus from 12:00 on 9 November 2023 and until 18:00 on 14 December 2023.
Lombardy
Funding lost CCIAA of Pavia
The Chamber of Commerce of Pavia has made available a call for support of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MPMI) with registered office and/or operational office in Pavia in the context of the internationalisation process.
This initiative is provided with a total fund of 100 thousand euros.
The eligible interventions for 2023 include:
- participation in international fairs both in Italy and abroad,
- strengthening of presence abroad,
- development and strengthening of online sales channels,
- digital marketing tools and promotion abroad.
Interested companies must commit at least 1,000 euros in such initiatives, with the opportunity to obtain a lost contribution covering 50% of expenditure eligible, up to a maximum of 5.000 euro.
Applications for access to this call can be submitted through the Infocamere Webtelemaco system, from 10:00 am on 14 September 2023 until 12:00 on 31 December 2023, unless the financial resources are exhausted before.

INTERNATIONAL BANDO – SECOND EXTRATE 2023 – CCIAA delle Marche
The companies of the Marche have a unique opportunity in the year 2023 to internationalize their business thanks to a lost fund financing promoted by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture of the Marche.
The call is open to micro-enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in various economic sectors, with registered office or operating units in the provinces of Marche.
Resources can be used for a number of expenditures relevant to internationalisation, including:
- specific advice,
- participation in national and international fairs and events,
- translation and localization services,
- registration of trademarks, patents and drawings,
- advertising and marketing activities,
- consultancy and assistance services.
The contribution covers the 70% of eligible expenditure, with a roof max. €2.500 for micro enterprises and €2,000 for SMEs.
Applications must be submitted within the expiry of the 30 November 2023 to be able to access this precious opportunity of internationalisation.
Tuscany
Funding lost for the internationalisation of the enterprises in Tuscany – CCIAA Maremma and Tirreno
The companies of Maremma and Tyrrhenian can obtain a lost contribution to internationalize their activities.
The call is aimed at micro-enterprises and SMEs of all economic sectors, with registered office or operational units in the provinces of Grosseto and Livorno.
The contribution can be used to support the following costs:
- Internationalisation advice
- Participation in international fairs and events
- Translations and localizations
- Registration of trademarks, patents and designs
- Advertising and marketing
- Consulting and assistance services
The amount of the contribution is 70% of the eligible expenditure, up to a maximum of €2.500 for micro enterprises and €2,000 for SMEs.
The deadline for submitting applications is the 30 November 2023.
Loans for the internationalisation of MPMI in Florence
The Chamber of Commerce of Florence offers a lost contribution to the MPMI of the metropolitan city that want to export.
Beneficiaries may make a contribution up to 1.500 euro for micro enterprises and up to 500 euro for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The contribution can be used to support the following costs:
- Advices for defining an export strategy;
- Training on export issues;
- Assistance for participation in international trade fairs and events;
- Assistance for the translation and localization of products and services;
- Assistance for opening branches or offices abroad;
- Assistance for the search of new customers and foreign partners.
The deadline for submitting applications is the 31 December 2023.
